crackedpots Holiday Shop
Building on two decades of hosting the annual Reuse Art Show at McMenamins Edgefield, Crackedpots presents a new concept for the holidays with the first annual Crackedpots Holiday Shop. The pop-up store will be held at Lloyd Center Mall as part of the mall’s Lloyd Local campaign this winter.
Known for its makers and craft scene, Portland is a nationwide leader in waste reduction and salvage. Combining these into an alternative approach to the holidays, the Crackedpots Holiday Shop encourages shoppers to reconsider the disposable nature of the season with thoughtful alternative gifts made from upcycled materials. All objects are made of at least 80% reused and reclaimed materials. Educational displays will be featured along with project ideas and inspiration for holiday reuse.
Crackedpots is an environmental art nonprofit dedicated to waste reduction. Reuse is at the heart of Crackedpots’ environmental initiatives. Through art, our programs, the annual Reuse Art Show, the annual GLEAN art show and ReClaim It! our salvage store, encourage the community to creatively look at waste. Passionate about resource conservation and deeply committed to creatively reducing waste and shrinking landfills through environmental art, repair and providing access to rescued materials for reuse.
Crackedpots Holiday Shop features fine art and craft by 40 local artists that utilize and upcycle waste materials. Artwork in a variety of media will be for sale including: metal, glass, textiles, jewelry, assemblage, wood and collage.
